SummerSizzle 2011

Good day to you folks!

Summer seems to have come and gone in an instant. PLAYSENSE was busy - youths, teens, young adults and older adults coming and going. We had a blast!

Highlights include:

~5 weeks of camp - 2 for teens, 3 for youths

~visits from various folks/critters (drummers, pianists, cross-Canada cyclists, frogs, snakes and a friendly beetle)

~we also went to visit Lea at the Enabling gardens (an absolute must see!)

~painting my car

~swimming at HCH pool

...and many other great games and activities!

Other newsworthy notes:

Shelldale Centre is expanding, with Community Health moving into the extension. You all have been very patient with the construction that has made access to PLAYSENSE more and more difficult

In addition to expanding, they have had to change PLAYSENSE a bit (we lost our window :( ) and I wanted to thank you all, again, for bearing with us as that has happened!

Shelldale Centre celebrated its 10th anniversary this year with a big picnic. HUGE turnout. Ive never been to their yearly bbq's, but they know how to throw them! The Shelldale's framework is truly unique and very person-centred ... I commend them for the work they do. The value of community initiative is concretely displayed in this very unique centre.
